Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) is linear polyethylene with an average molecular weight of more than 1.5 million. Due to its high molecular weight (ordinary POLYETHYLENE 20-300,000), UHMW-PE has comprehensive properties that ordinary polyethylene and other engineering plastics cannot match:
1) High wear resistance, 4 times higher than nylon 66 and ptfe, 6 times higher than carbon steel, is currently the best of all synthetic resins.
2) High impact strength, 2 times of polycarbonate, 5 times of ABS, can still maintain high toughness at liquid nitrogen temperature (-196℃).
3) Good self-lubrication, its self-lubrication is similar to ptfe, friction coefficient is only 0.07-0.11; Only 1/3 to 1/4 of the friction coefficient of steel.
